Revit Plug-in
Automation and analysis programs tailored to the firms workflow to improve the quality of construction documents. These tools were written in Python for the ability to push updates without any involvement from the end users. Each of these provide multi layered solutions, helping users complete tasks while keeping the model consistent with firms standards and conventions. This passively raises the quality of each model, reducing time actively spent maintaining BIM files. Where user input is required, display windows made in XMAL provides simple and responsive user interfaces.
Utilization Analysis
Data Visualization to analyze performance and utilization of the Revit plug-in through out the firm. Created with Power BI, data is linked from log files to provide a up-to-date view on how the python tools are used throughout the firm. Each time a tool is ran, data on the model and user is saved and processed to calculate cost saving and model health. This dashboard was crucial to see determine areas to be improved by measuring use.
The Ismaili Jamatkhana at Harvest Green
The client for this Mosque wanted the exterior facade of the prayer hall to have a gradient color change similar to a sunset. Brick was utilized providing the manufacture different ratios to mix colors to be installed at corresponding elevations.
A script was made to accommodate both rendering & construction documentation goals on patterns. Dynamo was used to create gradients of brick type ratios which were applied materials and provide a schedule with brick ratios per every brick course.
Texas Rangers Stadium
This project was a partnership with HKS, designing the new ball park for the Texas Rangers. My work focused on designing the roof structure and the seating bowl as well as providing BIM management solutions.
I created a BIM management tool to scan models to find any faulty Revit families. It compares naming conventions, file size, Autocad elements against BIM standards keeping the model running efficiently. For large scale projects, it saves a considerable time spent on maintenance.
Brazoswood High School
The project called for a space at the end of the building where the views from all direction had to be considered. Windows were arranged by considering multiple parameters to complement the circular shape of the building.
The window pattern layout utilized generative design technology to place glazing and structural members in an efficient way. Other parameters in this system include costs, views, and heat gain.
Energy High School
This was a STEM-focused High School for Houston ISD. The program was driven by the schools teaching style, project based learning. My work focused during the construction administration phase of the project.
During this project, I developed a workflow with Dynamo to streamline the revision process during project construction by having users log the changes in the BIM model as they make revisions to the drawings. When the revision is submitted, a narrative document can be exported along with the drawing changes.
